In response to escalating climate threats, Renewables First New Energy Nexushave jointly launched Climate Innovation Pakistan (CLIP), a first-of-its-kind national platform dedicated to accelerating homegrown climate tech solutions.
Despite contributing less than 0.9% to global greenhouse gas emissions, Pakistan ranks among the most vulnerable countries to climate change. The launch at the National Incubation Centre marks a milestone in addressing this challenge through technology-driven solutions.

Aafaq Ali (Pakistan Solar Association) emphasized the urgent need for improved solar installation quality.
Climate Tech Opportunities and Challenges
Ahtasam Ahmad (Renewables First) presented the white paper ‘Pakistan’s Climate Tech Opportunity’, outlining challenges, untapped potential, and a roadmap to scale the sector. The panel discussion on ‘The Role of Ecosystem Support Organizations in Building an Investable Climate Tech Pipeline’ stressed that impact investment requires stronger public-private collaboration, academia-industry alignment, and tailored support for startups.
Panelists highlighted critical gaps in funding, mentorship, and ecosystem support, noting the need for specialized incubation programs and capacity-building curricula. Gender inclusion was also emphasised, with targeted measures needed to unlock women-led climate tech ventures.
